Why dismissing AI-generated feedback as "just programming" is a mistake. The value of synthetic research lies in the insights it generates — not in the origin of the participant.

It’s real. Reality is what we create relationships with. Everything else falls outside of our circle of care. The moment we start developing an emotional attachment with the product of a machine learning model, it stops mattering that it is a synthetic being as opposed to an organic one. What matters is the value we derive from the relationship. And the moment we start profiting from it is the moment where its origin stops mattering.
